"Be a teacher.  Please?  Please.  Please, be a teacher.  Teachers are the most admirable and important people in the world.  You don’t have to do it forever, but if you’re in doubt about what to do, be an amazing teacher.  Even if you’re not a teacher, be a teacher.  Share your ideas.  Don’t take for granted your education.  Rejoice in what you learn and spray it."  - Tim Minchin

Become a teacher at The Literacy Council.  Our teachers are all ages, come from all backgrounds, and are all perfectly matched to a student that so desperately needs help.  Read to a student or volunteer to hear them read aloud.  Volunteer to help with homework.  Help with our summer programs.  A wide variety of teaching and volunteer opportunities are available, including mailings, assistance with fundraising events, administrative work, and more!

Our volunteer and teaching opportunities are available year round and we always need additional help!

We truly believe in changing lives one mind at a time! Please join our mission!
